Rachel Brand – United States Associate Attorney General


Rachel Brand was sworn in as Associate Attorney General on May 22, 2017, after Senate confirmation. Prior to becoming Associate Attorney General, Ms. Brand had a diverse legal career in public service, private practice, and academia. She previously served as the Assistant Attorney General for Legal Policy at the U.S. Department of Justice, and as one of five Senate-confirmed Members of the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board. She also served as Associate Counsel to the President and as a law clerk to Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy of the U.S. Supreme Court. She is a graduate of Harvard Law School.
