Jennifer Morrish – Home Office Legal Advisor, UCHQ / United Kingdom


After graduating in Law from Cambridge University, Jennifer Morrish qualified and practiced law at City firm Rowe & Maw (now part of Mayer Brown). Jennifer then joined the Government Legal Service at the Home Office in 1997, working initially on drafting the UK’s first comprehensive data protection legislation. In 2004 she began advising on national security issues, and has been involved in all UK national security related legislation and litigation since then. Between 2010 and 2016, Jennifer was GCHQ’s Legal Director, leading the UK’s response to the Snowden leaks and involved in the early stages of setting up the National Cyber Security Centre.
