Valerie L. Calloway – Chief Intellectual Property Counsel, Alltech, Inc.

Valerie L. Calloway is Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for Alltech, Inc., where she is responsible for the company’s intellectual property matters worldwide. Alltech is primarily an animal nutrition and health product manufacturer that operates in 128 countries and is headquartered in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Ms. Calloway is a current Board Member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and is registered to practice law in Ohio, Kentucky, Minnesota (inactive) and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Ms. Calloway earned her M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota, and her B. S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia.

Leah Edelman – Associate, Fish & Richardson

Leah Edelman is an Associate in the Washington D.C. office of Fish & Richardson. She was previously a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Robert P. Patterson, Jr., of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Paul C. Huck of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Prior to her legal career, Ms. Edelman was a Graduate Researcher specializing in electronic materials at the University of Florida and also worked as an Electrical Engineer at IBM.

Judy Jennison – Partner, Perkins Coie LLP

Judy Jennison is a partner with Perkins Coie LLP in Seattle, where her practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and counseling for technology companies. She was lead counsel for the successful search engine defendant in Kelly v. Arriba Soft, a landmark fair use case. She has participated in a number of other leading copyright cases, including Galoob v. Nintendo, Adobe v. Southern Software and MGM v. Grokster. In addition, she is chair of the firm’s cross-practice Trade Secrets Group. Judy spent eight years in-house at Microsoft Corporation in intellectual property, antitrust and business-facing roles.

Danielle Johnston Holmes – Associate General Counsel, Patent Portfolio Development Team, Microsoft

Danielle Johnston Holmes is Associate General Counsel for the Patent Portfolio Development Team in the Intellectual Property Group at Microsoft.  Danielle leads the team of patent attorneys and paralegals responsible for harvesting inventions from Microsoft’s R&D groups, filing and prosecuting patents worldwide and determining the strategic value of Microsoft’s patent portfolio.  Danielle joined Microsoft in 1998, initially providing patent support for the Windows group and later leading teams of attorneys and engineers responsible for identifying and analyzing patents to support Microsoft’s licensing and enforcement efforts and other strategic business initiatives.  Prior to joining Microsoft, Danielle worked for the law firm of Marshall, Gerstein in Chicago, where she concentrated on patent litigation, patent prosecution and client counseling matters in the electrical, mechanical and computer science arts. Danielle received an electrical engineering degree from Loyola Marymount University and her law degree from the University of Notre Dame and is a registered patent attorney.

Naomi Waltman – Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel, CBS Corporation

Naomi Waltman is Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel of CBS Corporation. She serves as co-head of the Intellectual Property section of the CBS Law Department, where she helps develop and implement strategies to protect the company’s intellectual property. As deputy head of Litigation, she also represents CBS Corp. and its business units in a broad range of litigation matters, including intellectual property, defamation, employment, and general commercial disputes. Ms. Waltman received a J.D. from Stanford Law School and a B.A. with Distinction from Stanford University.
